A very special antique cotton combination dating from around 1890-1910. Made from fine medium-weight cotton with beautiful lace details. She has that wonderful old-world undergarment shape that now works brilliantly as an unusual summer piece, festival layer or collector’s textile. Originally, pieces like this would have been worn as part of a woman’s underclothing, often beneath dresses and petticoats. The open crotch construction is original to the period, though the legs have been hand stitched closed at a later point. There are so many ways to style her in a modern settings.
