We adore coming across unusual handmade pieces, and this maxi dress, dating from the late 1960s or early 1970s, certainly fits that criteria. Made from a thick, heavyweight fabric of emerald green and black pinstripes, it has a beautiful shape with a square neckline, a fitted waist and a long skirt finished with lovely little ruffles around the hem. Fastening at the back with a metal zip and double-lined throughout, it very much has an Alice in Wonderland quality to it, whilst also being an elegant and witchy number for a Halloween gathering.
