Vintage 1960s Sheraton Velvet Tapestry Carpet Coat

Almost resembling an old tapestry, with an unusual pattern that is both geometric and floral, this 1960s carpet coat by the vintage brand Sheraton, is an actual work of art. Made from a lovely, thick velvet, with a mix of green, gold, and brown, it has a very beautiful shape that comes in at the waist, with a high neckline, full skirt and these absolutely gorgeous ornate metal buttons running down the front. And the all important feature - pockets. Its an eccentric coat that is well-made, perfect for autumn days walking through the countryside.

Condition

Lovely vintage condition. The two lowest buttons are missing, although this does not really change how the coat fastens or wears. There is a small hole near the bottom, slight pulling to some of the seams and minor wear to the lining. The lining beneath one arm also has an opening of  2”, which could be stitched closed relatively easily. The rare coat is a belter of a find that could be styled with allsorts.
