An astounding piece of Victorian/Edwardian history in wonderful condition. The exact date is difficult to state, but its around late 1800s/early 1900s. It could be worn as designed, as a nightdress, or dressed up for modern purposes with a belt and a pair of boots and a waistcoat.
It has a beautiful high square neck with broderie anglaise and embroidered sleeves on the cuffs and neckline. It is made of gorgeously thick 100% cotton material, with a pleated chest and a silk, woven ribbon.
Someone at a later date has added 4 buttons that are not useable. The condition overall is lovely with no major flaws, and it is still incredibly crisp and white. It is rare to find something in such great condition.
